Privacy Statement
The Ruffed Grouse Society through its website, ruffedgrousesociety.org, is committed to providing a fun, safe and secure website for people of all ages. We are dedicated to safeguarding all personal information collected online and to helping our visitors learn how to exercise control over personal information while exploring the Internet. To help ensure a rewarding online experience for all visitors, we provide this summary of our information practices. This privacy notice governs the collection and use of information at ruffedgrousesociety.org.
As we continue to offer our visitors new and different types of content and services, we may modify our practices from time to time. As a user of RGS’ interactive services, you agree to review this statement annually to remain informed of our policies and practice.
General
RGS collects personal information when you register with RGS, when you use RGS products or services, when you visit RGS pages or the pages of certain RGS partners, and when you enter promotions or sweepstakes. RGS may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.
When you register we ask for information such as your name, email address, mailing address, zip code, and information about your interests. Once you register with RGS and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us.
RGS collects information about your transactions with us. Credit card information is used for one-time billing purposes only and stored in an encrypted manner. RGS' credit card system only retains the last four (4) digits of your billing information. At this time RGS does not offer or practice recurred billing transactions, although that may be offered in the future.
RGS automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, RGS cookie information, and the page you request.
RGS uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.
RGS also sells its membership list to companies or organizations for one-time use to contact you relative to products or services we think our members would appreciate. Should you not want to be included in that list, please login and edit your user profile or contact Membership@ruffedgrousesociety.org.
Children
It is against RGS policy for a Child under age 13 to register with RGS, we ask that he or she obtain parental permission and have a parent or guardian create an RGS Account.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
RGS does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
- We may rent, sell or share the personal information of users, who have not Opted-out, to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with RGS under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help RGS communicate with you about offers from RGS and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
- We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
- We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, game violations, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of RGS' Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.
- We transfer information about you if RGS is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, RGS will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
RGS does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted ad.
RGS advertisers include financial service providers (such as banks and lending institutions) and non-financial companies (such as retailers and manufacturers of outdoor, and non-outdoor, related products).
RGS works with vendors, partners, advertisers, and other service providers in different industries and categories of business.
Cookies
RGS may set and access RGS cookies on your computer.
RGS may let other companies that show advertisements on some of our pages set and access their cookies on your computer. Other companies' use of their cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. Advertisers or other companies do not have access to RGS' cookies.
Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences
You can edit your RGS Membership Details, including your marketing/opt-in/out preferences, at any time by editing your account profile from the Ruffed Grouse Society Forum page. To edit your account profile, log in using your username and password, then click on My Membership to edit your account preferences. Other changes to your online profile can be set under User CP (Control Panel). If you need assistance editing your profile, please call 888-564-6747 during our normal work hours.
New categories of marketing communications may be added to the Marketing Preferences section from time to time. Users who visit this page can opt out of receiving future marketing communications from these new categories or they can unsubscribe by following instructions contained in the messages they receive.
We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the RGS service, such as service announcements, administrative messages, and renewal notices that are considered part of your RGS account, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.

Confidentiality and Security
We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

RGS may update this policy. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your RGS account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
